LZ Hurricane is devoted to preserving the history of the 82nd FA Battalion, 1st Cavalry Div. (WWII and Korean Conflict) and the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery, 15th Cav, 23rd (Americal), and 1st Cavalry Divisions from 1917 to today. It was created in the memory of all those who have served within the “Can and Will” Battalion. LZ Hurricane is named after the LZ that was the home of the Headquarters and Service Battery from 1968-71 at Chu Lai, South Vietnam. LZ Hurricane has as its primary objectives the identification of all those who have served in this Battalions ranks and to collect and preserve historical information on the Battalion. It is also our hope that we can in a very small way assist veterans in locating and contacting their comrades.
